Staying true to our founding mission is, in essence, a matter of whom we serve and whose support sustains us. Our Party was founded for the people and has always been of one heart with the people. Bound to the people by an inseverable tie, the Party will always be in the service of the people to fulfill its mission.

不忘初心、牢记使命，说到底是为什么人、靠什么人的问题。以百姓心为心，与人民同呼吸、共命运、心连心，是党的初心，也是党的恒心。

Either for a person or for a party what must be treasured most is the adherence to one’s original aspirations and good qualities in the face of any hardships encountered. For our Party, its original aspiration and founding mission epitomize its nature, purpose, ideals, convictions and goals, and motivate us to stand fast and march forward. From the Shikumen building where our Party was established, to the Tian'anmen Rostrum where the founding of our country was declared, and on to the path of the new era, all of our Party's efforts, struggles and sacrifices have been dedicated to the people's wellbeing and national rejuvenation. Our original aspiration and founding mission have enabled the Party to grow and prosper in extreme difficulties, break through tight encirclements, and rise in adversity. Without them, our Party would change its nature, lose public support, and risk its future.

一个人也好，一个政党也好，最难得的就是历经沧桑而初心不改、饱经风霜而本色依旧。党的初心和使命是党的性质宗旨、理想信念、奋斗目标的集中体现，激励着我们党永远坚守，砥砺着我们党坚毅前行。从石库门到天安门，从兴业路到复兴路，我们党近百年来所付出的一切努力、进行的一切斗争、作出的一切牺牲，都是为了人民幸：兔褡甯葱。正是由于始终坚守这个初心和使命，我们党才能在极端困境中发展壮大，才能在濒临绝境中突出重围，才能在困顿逆境中毅然奋起。忘记初心和使命，我们党就会改变性质、改变颜色，就会失去人民、失去未来。
